The FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions FAQs were originally developed by online discussion participants who found themselves constantly answering the same questions. An FAQ list lets discussions focus on more advanced issues, and gives newcomers answers to their most common questions.

1. Why do public visitors to MyTown not have automatic access to the personal pages of mytown members?
2. I didn't get my login information for my new mytown community membership - what happened?
3. I can't find or have forgotten my password to log into mytown . What can I do to find out what it is?

Q : Why do public visitors to MyTown not have automatic access to the personal pages of mytown members? [#1]
A : The mytown system is designed to provide a personal site for each individual who is authorized to have a free user account on the system. The individual may choose to restrict access (deny access to all or make the content public) by making changes to the rights associated with the content page. Each page can have a different permission setting as determined by the site owner or editor.

Q : I didn't get my login information for my new mytown community membership - what happened? [#2]
A : When you create a new account the mytown system sends you an email confirming your membership was successfully received and provides you with a temporary secure password to log back into the mytown system. If you didn't get this email within a few minutes it may have been returned to mytown as undeliverable. Make sure you used a valid email account - spelling mistakes are common and often unavoidable. If your email or webmail account has a maximum quota limit check to make sure your account quota isn't full... Or your service provider may experienced a temporary overflow and blocked incoming emails until the peak passed and may have returned it to us for any of these reasons. If you think this may have happened please contact the mytown editors any time for assistance at SeniorEditor@mytown.ca

Q : I can't find or have forgotten my password to log into mytown . What can I do to find out what it is? [#3]
A : If you can't find or have forgotten your mytown member password simply enter your user name into the login box. Leave the password entry area blank and click on the login button. The system will show you an error message and a form that you can use to have it sent to you by email. If you run into any problems with logging into mytown at anytime contact the editors at SeniorEditor@mytown.ca
